Need help with 6th gear issue on IX MR
That sucks I would rather it happen to 6th! Sounds strange about your torque being gone tho... is that because they couldn't finish your tune? Can't get into 4th on the dyno or something?
I haven't looked into it yet but I wonder if the 5speed has any of the same issues with burred hub sliders/ probs getting into and out of gear...

the torque started to go after a pull from 1-4 for a log and after that I couldn't feel it anymore, and here I started to have problems with 3rd and 4th.
I am tuning via e-mail flash with 4 wheel slide cuz I live in Kuwait, I can't seem to get a good tuner exacpt Tamer@4ws
am looking around for a used 5 speed right now and hope to find one as soon as possible.
once the tune is finished I'll send it to shep and get it rebuild .

UPDATE:
With the new fluid in (thanks Erik @ Milspec!) and the brass shifter bushings I installed my gear issue is much improved! There is still a bit of resistance going into/out of 6th gear, but a lot less of a problem than it was before. It doesn't feel as close to locking me out of 6th gear as it did before- the key for me is to slowly baby it into and out of 6th, pushing the shifter really hard toward the passenger side when I shift. The transmission shop I went to told me if the clutch fork were damaged I would have the issue with all gears and not just 1 gear. I am guessing that there probably is some damage to the 5th-6th hub slider as suggested in this thread, but nonetheless the fluid and bushings did help and make for a bandaid fix. I will try to avoid using 6th except for high seed cruising on the highway and hopefully it will get me by for the next couple of years until I can afford a built 5 speed- thanks to everyone for your help and input- Cheers

UPDATE-
with the warmer weather we had (45 degrees, yeah thats warm in Utah in winter), up until the storm this week I took the Evo out a couple times and was happy to discover that the 6th gear issue was almost non-existant!!! I didnt slam it into 6th, but shifted fairly quick and did not experience the resistance that was there before... cannot wait to see if it is completely gone with the warms temps in summer!
