Modified Evo 9 turbo with a TD06SL2R and a MHI 20G???

Anyone running a modified Evo 9 turbo with a TD06SL2R 11 blade turbine wheel and a MHI 20G compressor? I am not sure if this is the same turbo FP used before going to the billet custom 5 blade compressor. I believe the TD06SL2R is the same turbine as the FPGreen. Is this a good turbo? I can get a brand new one with the Evo 9 installation kit shipped for $850. Almost half as the Green. Is this a good deal? IO know the Green and Red are better but also twice the price. This is strictly for street use on pump 93 octane gas.

I am running modded evo 10 turbo using the TD06SL2/20G. bought the turbo off e-bay for 400 with no housings. had the exhaust housing machined to fit. Already had spare 20g covers. yes it works phenomenal for the price. You can read more about it here:http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newb...-10-turbo.html And there are some good pics of difference in size of the turbos. The evo 10 turbo is only a tad smaller than evo 8/9 16g. I say go for it. You will be pleased.

Yes. Thats the turbine and compressor I am talking about. It looks there is not much diff in spool. Appears to be a good turbo alternative for the street @ 22~24 PSI. I am getting thw whole thing with machined housings and ported hotside brand new. So it appears to be a good deal. Includes the Evo 9 oil lines, compressor outlet and gaskets too.

the plain IX turbo has been pushed well over 400whp, and you can get even a brand new one cheaper then the turbo you are looking at. youre better off doing that. or spend a bit more and look at the bbk turbos, i believe the lite is made just for what you want. FP white is another option, find a used IX for 350-400, and have FP do the white conversion for 600$. you get a rebuilt super responsive turbo for just a bit more then what youre looking at

I have not seen any used turbos at the 350-400 range. Locally I was asked $600 and $700 for a used 9 turbo (I know thats insane). The deal I have been offered is basically for the price of a stock 9 turbo. But it includes the installation kit for the 8. Still debating if I should dumo another $800 on top for the green.

Oh damn bro didn't see you were in PR! But still, you should be able to find something here on EVOM for a better price, even with the extra cost of shipping.

Was there a tunning difference between the Stock 9 Turbo and the Dreen? Was that at the same PSI? How much boost? Just curious.

Yep. We always got screw with the shipping charges, it sucks. Specially if the only option is UPS or FedEx. When I was looking for an intercooler I was quoted once $180 for shipping and the box was about 25 pounds. I ended getting it a lot cheaper through an ebay vendor but took me a long time to find anyone willing to ship via USPS. The actual shipping cost ended being less than $30.

The Stock 9 on 22psi needed a different tune from the 8. Thats why there really wasnt a MPH difference. Top end felt better on the 9 than the Stock 8 though. I ended up going to a Green Tuned @28psi. Almost instant Spool and Great Power. Havent had a chance to go back out since i got the Ignition put on. Also just Installed a new clutch. Old one was slipping bad.
