Taking a while to turn over..

Number of things I guess it could be, but I guess asking if this "is normal" is in order.

I've got a 35r turbo set up with 1000cc injectors. NGK BR8ES spark plugs and so on.. coil packs are in good order too..

Any ideas on why it could take up to 5 cranks for the car to start up? =(

well if it was the alternator, wouldn't the battery eventually die? if it was the battery, wouldn't the car not start at all? if it was the starter.. well I dunno what the starter would do...

what are your fuel trims? your injector latencies/scaling could be off.

+1 If the battery is still in your engine bay, then see below.

Sounds like you just installed injectors and haven't been tuned.

When I bought the car from the dood he says he had it pretty well tuned from some shop.. so.. I guess I should just mess with the latencies/scaling and it should quicken the start up?

The battery relocation question was a serious one from torque07 and from me. We are trying to help you, keep an attitude and see how far you get in fixing your car.

didn't sound serious. My apologies if it was.. I have a hard time sensing sarcasm through the comp. And seeing he only had 51 posts, I didn't trust him as much as you by far.

Only reason is my friend has a 240sx with his battery in the trunk. It takes a couple extra turns and sounds like his battery is weak while starting. If the battery isnt in the trunk, then forget this for trouble shooting. I see you have the AEM which I have zero experience with.

My other friend who turbo'd his 240 has 1000cc on a chipped ecu. Takes like 8-12 turns to start. Id say injectors aren't dailed in correctly. How long you have this car for? New problem, or slow start from day one?

all AEM EMS equipped evo's will have this issue. no way around it, other than some "trigger disc" but that's way too much work unless youre already building your motor.
