Straight to the point, very simple, proven time and time again, cheap = GReddy PRofec B. I got a good deal on a friend used unit for about US$140 and very happy with it. It has high, low and balance settings (use to adjust the response of the boost pressure), once set, it stays till redline. My settings are 0.9 for low, 1.3 for high. The new profec b 2 should be better feature wise, since it has a display but still utilise the same dual solenoid unit.

I use Apexi AVCR, holds boost like a champion, looks sexy, plus gear-specific boost and the other features are nice, but I wish it read in PSI

"the hks evc is one of the biggest POS"

I think its the case where if you ask 10 people, you are likely to get 10 answers. I ahve used the EVC series going back to the early 90's, and it is, hands down, the easiest to use and program, and has nver given me anything but 100% consistent control. It's only downside is the cost.

Other units that our customers seem to like alot are the Blitz SBCID3, and the Power Enterprise (in terms of electronic units - we don't really get into the manual ones much aside from Turbo XS, GReddy and HKS)

If it's a Hallman MBC, the answer is YES.

very doubtful that first gear will hold to redline. May spike up that high, but usually wont hold in first gear as there is not enough load on the engine .

Do your pulls in 3rd gear, that and forth will have your highest boost spikes. 1st and 2nd in my experience don't spike as high. My Hallman Pro does a fine job of holding boost exactly where I want it, nice and steady. No adjustments needed. What more would you want it to do. It certainly doesn't suck, as one very closed minded individual stated.

I'm about to get the Hallman Pro on a stock car. Will it still hold 19psi strong to redline without an ecu flash?
