2.3L guys - highway milage

So what sort of milage are you 2.3L guys seeing on the highway?

Right now I seem to get about 22-23 MPG on the highway.

On highway only, I see anywhere from 25-31 mpg (overall average 26.5). Mixed driving I see 20-22 mpg.

Wow, that's damn good. Do you have your target cruise A/F's leaner than 14.7?

Still targeting 14.7. I did add 2 degrees of timing in the cruise load cells, although I was still getting over 25 mpg before I did that.

I need to check my fuel trims, maybe I need to slightly adjust my injector scaling and latency.

I got 25 MPG on the 2.0L on my standard commute, now its 22. Maybe it's the crap winter gas...

Not all 2.3L. engines are the same. Eventhough the displacement may be identical, if the compression ratios are different, then the fuel mileage will tend to be different as well, due to diffrences in volumetric efficiency.

^^^^ yes, low compression gets worse gas mileage right? I'm pretty sure it's like that and not the other way around.

That's correct. All else being equal, the higher C.R. engine should produce more power from the same amount of fuel and air at any given RPM.

Wow Guy's I get about 10-14 mpg. About 120-135 miles to about 12 gallons of gas. That's mostly highway driving. but I get about that all the time, no matter my driving style. I think my A/F is running about 14 on the AEM gauge.

Tonba: Have you been following Dave Buschur's current 2.3L. engine build? He will be going with a 10.5:1 static compression ratio. He's stated that he'll have no problem running at least 25 PSI(maybe he said higher?) of boost on 91 octane gasoline(petrol). Who's going to argue with him? That thing should have pretty good cruising mileage and be a real handful as well!

i think you have a hole in your fuel line, that or someone is siphoning your gas at night
