I have one of those. And I'd make sure to have some PB Blaster on hand.

You can pick up a used low-mileage IX turbo kit for $450. Many times this includes the WGA, J-Pipe, and lines. Great bang for the buck

you know what he has a point there... im sure if u still have a stock turbo its pretty tired after 110K on it. im sure u can find a nice used 9 turbo for cheap. if ur willing to go with a green or red . I say port your throttle body, exhaust manifold and get an 02 housing now since you already have cams. I'm getting all that done before hand. Those and im getting an ETS v2 licp.

People are selling used evo 9 turbos on here all the time for around 400-500 dollars.

I would look at something like our fabricated & coated 02 housing, ported & coated exhaust manifold and a ported 10.5 housing.

You could also look at something like our ported intake manifold service and 65mm throttlebody conversion.

I guess I'm willing to spend $2,000. However, I don't have a " I want to blow 2 grand on my car" attitude. If there are cheaper bang-for-the-buck options, that's what I'm looking for.

It's looking like a turbo upgrade is in order. If I buy a low miles 9 turbo and a Megan O2 housing, will it just bolt right up? ...or do I need additional hardware? Are there different variations of the 9 turbo, or are they all the same? Are the waste gates all the same?

I've also read that the LICP yields some HP. Should I upgrade it when I upgrade the turbo?

Warrtalon, what's your opinion? I've come to respect your opinion. Plus, you are a fellow autocrosser.

I'd go with the IX turbo setup w/supporting mods along with a meth kit....the power gains will be ridiculous and still upgradable in the future if u decide u want a bigger turbo ie green, red, gt30r

did you get a custom dyno tune yet from a reputable tuner? if not, id say start with that.

evo9 turbo with o2 housing is best bang for buck as long as you do the install yourself. If you have e85 available at your area i would say go for that, you'll need BIG injectors and wideband and another tune.

meth isn't allowed in AutoX.

You can do great things on just the IX turbo, so I'd start searching the FS forums here for a good deal. That "should" leave you around 1500$ to spend.

EPM 02 Dump housing
IC pipes
ported IM/TB
lightweight motor mounts
IX turbo

that should be around 2g's total, and will net you some HP, should help decrease spool, and maybe drop some weight at the same time. All very good things for AutoX
