Hey Guys posted this up on EvoE but wanted to see if there's info from EvoM.

So, my turbo recently died on me and I just recently had it swapped out to a White Rabbit (Temp Fix). Now, I own an Evo VIII and prior to this swapped out to a IX turbo (which just died ). All of this while I've had the AEM intake. Funny thing is that when the WR was swapped in I now notice a really noticeable and prominent "turbo spooling" sound. Now for the past two turbo's I've always been able to hear the intake "sucking" in air, but this is a separate sound. Now my installer (thanks bro!) was awesome and rechecked all intercooler piping and even replaced the "J-Pipe" gasket on the turbo. I did put the stock cat back on and it needs a re-tune but it holds boost up to 18psi.

I've never heard a WR turbo spool and wonder for those who've had one if they can chime in if you've heard a difference. It's just a nagging worry, but on the drive home I thought I'd ask around and see what you guys thought.

I had wrx from stocker to vf34 and on evo IX from stocker to fp red....When i upgraded both times the turbo made a different sound than stock...id say ur ok

 

I had a WR and what you are hearing is the turbo, more than likely b/c of the titanium wheel.

 

Man, i have WR just sitting in my garage and my car is already apart, waiting on a timing belt to come in. I am so tempted to throw in on. Did you notice anything else other than the sound going from the IX to the WR?
