All the internals were stock. yes i was on the stock fmic with meth. i for sure will be building this new motor up to hold the power no point in going stock when i know i can kill that. the thing that is hurting me the most is that everyone requires a good core, why cant people take one with a few holes in it hahahaha. im looking at the buschur stage 3 short block 3k+1800 for no core and got to find a good head i can put on. br for about 1600+1400 again no core. plus a new radiator about 550, and what ever else is broke. damn this adds up very fast, that was around a $7k corner i took

That sucks you only had two days to enjoy your new red This is yet another reason to upgrade rod bolts, main studs, and head studs, at a minimum with that kind of power. Even though most people get away with it, sometimes your the exception to the rule.

ya and those 2 days with the red were really short. first time i had the red on it blew in 50 miles because of debris in my oil that caused the thrust bearings to break. then this time was about 50 miles again before the motor blew up. ya i guess im the exception to the rule

Maybe try to buy a built longblock from a partout in the private for sale thread. Buying outright used won't require a core. This guy says he has BR stroker shortblock too.

Yea, the rebuild adds up quick, did you read the post on page 2? 7k + about 2k in misc + who is doing the swap? At least 1200 for the swap, and another 500-1000 for the new tune. Are you going to leave the stock intercooler in there now? Engine is out...want that new clutch installed now? Have fun, the best part is when all the packages show up!! Its like christmas and your birthday!! It really sucks the day it happens.

Your best bet is to be patient and wait for a built engine to pop up.

KevinD will be doing all the work on my car. I trust him and he has done a great job thus far. I dont know what his swap charge is but he wont charge me 500-1000 for a new tune lol. Will keep the stock ic for now because i will only have funds for the motor and radiator. so far my clutch is holding just fine i see no need to change it out.

here is a small update. i got my crank back so i thought id post some pics of it. there is a dispute on what actually happened. the rod is seized to the crank so that could have been the cause of the failure or the rod could have snapped and then the rod seized. either way here are some pics and what the crank has become now

lamp hahaha

i know i need to find a lampshade but home depot does not sell them

No one thinks this might have been an oiling issue? Faulty oil pump? Odd it should blow in a corner.

the car has been parted out and returned to stock. it has a new built motor. i had to sell all my part to fix it so its once again the car is slow as *****. it sucks going from a near 500whp car all the way back to stock. i even sold my short shifter. however, its good to have a car back, it beats asking for rides all the time. thanks to kevinD, denver, robert, and who ever else had a hand in getting it back! as of now the car is fs, im looking to buy a XI!

do you think your engine was already on its way out? I mean to have enough particles in your oil to kill a turbo in 2 days that rod bearing might have been really shot, then the rod seized and bang..
