temp gauge video

I been having some issues with extended idle....

If i begin driving it goes to normal op temps.. Never gets hot driving unless I turn on the heat...

Also, I do have heat... and a/c

The video speaks for itself.. I have logged it while its doing it and it wil be around 185-192 then when the gauge read HOT (H) its loggin 203 degrees nothing more...

I have burped the coolant system a few times make sure there is not any air bubbles..

I have never seen a gauge do this. I have seen one not work, I have seen one go hot stay hot and boil over, but never up and down like this.

Please help... I'm going today to ordera temp sensor...

if its ther t-stat wouldn't the car go hot and stay hot?

if its stuck closed?

I went to mits and my dealership never had a t-stat go bad on evo,, there have never ordered one.

I bought a sensor, but I am going to try one more time to burp it and make sure no air pockets are in there.

fyi.... in case anyone has a problem like I had.. check your grounds. I spend 46$ on a sensor that I didnt' need.

I suppose the engine sitting unsupported awaiting my shep trans and twin disc caused my (what I think is the only) ground wire on engine to come apart.

Symptoms- car run hot idling when fan/ac would come on.... when fans kicked off the temp would go down on the gauge.
