ETS, English Racing 2009 Drag Evo Revamp

So this year due the economy and funds being tight ETS and I are going to take over Pauls car for the year. I will be driving in hopes to figure out our small bugs so the car can go down the track straight and be reliable. Since I have never driven a car at this level I hope it will give me much better feed back to know how to help others that want to do the same.

Here is a link to our other post about our plans.

In this tread I am going to try and update you guys on the status of the car and what its doing.

I picked up the car up from Paul with the head off due to a leaking hg from our extreme misfiring due to low voltage when the alt belt had fell Off. At this level the smallest things can cause huge problems.

We are also welding up the coolant ports in the head. So if we do have a slight leak it wont blow coolant all over making a mess or getting on the tires at 160+ that could cause a crash. I do plan on racing this in a few events so if we get in a spot ware I know the hg has a small leak we can still make a pass if its the difference between wining or losing. JR at ETS is who welded the head for us and followed detailed instruction from Marco of Magnus motor sports. Here is a link to how he does it. http://www.evo-tech.net/forums/showthread.php?t=131

Here are a few pics of the horrible state of the car which is soon to change and our new 1 5/8 cromo tube for the cage.

We have quite a bit of work here at the shop and are only working on this when we have time so progress will be a bit slow but the plan is to make it to the track by April with the car.

I will try and update the post with pics at least once a week. If you have any questions please ask.

I normally post after I have built or done something, but that kinda takes the fun out of it. so a post like this is kinda new for me.

Good luck with the new car. Can't wait to see the finished product. Are you going to leave the front support the way it is or do a new piece? It looks like it is welded at a small area instead of the support being welded directly to the subframe.

The sub frame was a Paul deal. May be heaver then stock was done due a car rear ending his trailer pushing the car forward. Have not looked at it that close to see if we are going to revamp it or not.
