my intake cam snapped?!!?
Well guys good news from Kelford. Kevin has asked me to send the cams I have back (they are brand new in the box), and if I want, get the same grind on the FP cam. I think this is definitely the route I will be going with (let's just hope no FP cores start snapping lol).
mostly this thread has been about gsc and kelford cams snapping right? if there some stories of cosworth cams snapping as well?
Also could it be possible that the cams snaping is due to the springs your running with your cams? i know some springs are harder to compress than others. This could cause added resistance leading to the cams snapping.
Sorry if this has already been covered...

Kelford has been working diligently to find the cause of the mivec cam breakages. We appreciate the useful feedback most of you have been giving us that we can use to help pinpoint the problem.
As pointed out by Kelford earlier in the thread, the cams that are currently being supplied to Motovicity (and have been sold since Feb of this year) are the same as used in the FP cams as well as a few other cam companies out there. We have not had any reported failures of these cores. Until the exact cause of the failures has been pointed out in the other cores, these cores will be used. For all we know it could be something as simple as damage in shipping, which we have also switched our packaging to further protect the cams.
The difference for the two cores is obvious, see pictures attached, both Kelford cams. The picture with the shallower oil grooves is the current core we have been selling.
We have also replaced a few of the old cores from customer that have came to us with concerns.
We do recommend running Bee Hive springs with the evo 9 cams, we do not recommend using dual valve springs.

if installed you can see it through the oil cap with the engine in the right position. Otherwise it shown in post #214 in this thread.
How much resistance is there, if you don't bleed the lifters? Maybe that accelarates the breakage?

can the companies come forth and say from what time to what time the EHH8 cam was used for production?
if failure is from the EHH8 group.
