can anybody confirm the difference between these two metal diverter valve? one is all silver and the other is silver with gold on top. i see that the gold top is commonly known as the jdm mr/evo 9 but where did the silver one came from?

 

i remember a friend telling me that the old top came from factoy on the car while the silver top is what you will get if you buy new from a Mitsu dealer. As far as diffrences in its operation, i do not know if there's a difference. probabaly not.
