Getting ready to install my o2 dump

Can I reuse my stock gasket? EPM sells them for $13 but shipping to Chicago is another $16

Thanks

NO! you gotta use the gasket provided otherwise the exhaust gases wont travel as designed. In fact you will probably have exhaust gases coming out of the dump tube at idle.

what they said... i made this mistake at first... it sucks.. you lose mo power, and boost creep to hell.. take my word for it... another solution is buy some copper gasket, spray it, and put the dump on with that...

Hit up Russell from Mitsubishiparts.net (has their own subforum here FYI). You can get it shipped to you for less than the prices you just stated. Do it right the first time!

Or go without a gasket as it was designed in the beginning.

Really? I wonder why they include a gasket with it then?

Yes, they do now. I installed mine without the gasket and so far so good after 2K. I check it periodically.

ok, thanks everyone for the heads up.

So I got kinda confused at the last couple posts. I cannot reuse the existing gasket but I buy an OEM one and it will fit and work correctly?

No, I wouldn't recommend reusing the used OEM, just get a new OEM one while you have everything apart.

4get the OEM. Send them an email and ask them to get you a shipping quote. The 16$ is somewhat generic and doesnt cost that much to ship something thats only 1lb. I recently did this, and they are more than helpful.

I'm going to assume you don't run the epm dump because you are telling him to run an OEM gasket. To the OP, if you run the OEM gasket then you are defeating the purpose of the dump which is to separate the flow when the wastegate opens...Listen to people who actually run the dump. Bottomline is the either buy the gasket from EPM or use copper spray and run without a gasket at all.

I apologize, I was just thinking a normal 02 housing, not the dump.
