Trying to figure out an issue of my buddies car, the story goes like this:

The car is a stock motor, ETS 57trim ,E85 car that makes 475 on 30 pounds. Some one put a catch can on his car with the breather capped off ( no where for crank case pressure to go) That same night after a pull the car started to smoke on decel. It only smokes on decel after a pull.

fixed the catch can situation and problem was the same.

Today we pulled the intake off, there was oil in the turbo inlit but there was no shaft play.

Any ideas on what the issue could be before we dig into it some more?

yes it is

 

We cleaned all the oil out of the turbo and intake yesterday, we and ripped on the car a bit then took back off the intake. There was no new oil in there.

Is it high rpm decel? I wouldn't say its the valve seals or guides, otherwise it would be smoking all the time. I'd look at the tune and see whats going on under deceleration.

 

Have you tried a leak down test?
