I have an 03 viii.... motor blew 2 thurdays ago... i ordered a used motor with 15k miles on it.... motor should be here today.... however they just tell me today its from an 05 viii... there shouldnt be any problems swapping these right?

 

nope not that i know of but then again i am speaking from a JDM standpoint.

 

thanks, i didnt think there would be a problem since they are both evo viii motors.... but figured i'd ask some people who know more then me... hopefully it'll be in and running by the end of next week

 

Just bigger turbo, and a different ECU, and the 05's came with ACD but if they are just swaping the engine then I am pretty sure its a straight swap...

 

What exactly happened?

 

The 05 also has a 10.5 hotside. Hopefully youll get the turbo as well.

 

its supposed to be a complete motor...turbo and all...they are gonna call me when it gets to grean leaf... im gonna go look at it then they are gonna ship it to mitsubishi for me

i was at about 4k in 3rd about to shift when i heard BANG....clang clang...saw lots of smoke...rolled thru a very busy intersection w/no powersteering and no brakes ... pulled over and saw a river of oil behind me.... called enjoi and he came and looked with me and found a hole at least the size of an orange in my block... he thinks its from a bad tune on the vishnu piggyback i have... and i am thinking the same thing...either way the piggyback is coming out when the new motor goes in

the motor i ordered was junk at least i didnt pay for it yet.... i gotta find another one .... have a line on a motor with 10k miles for 3 grand no turbo.... but i think my original turbo should still be good... hopefully this one comes thru

 

hey is your head ok? I just turned in a core at overboost.com talk to mark darius he is extremely reasonable, he could build the core I gave him for you and you can use your head. His shop is right by me and I went there and he does all 4g63 and 420a builds call him up.

also i do not know how the head is...

 

im hopefully buyin one tonight or tomorrow with 10k miles on it... just no turbo... but maybe i dont need one or maybe ill get a new one either way the price is excellent for 10k miles and its been compression tested and has paperwork to verify the mileage

 

should be good if its a straight swap
