the EXHAUST thread
I have a Perrin TBE fits perfect (almost) needed to add a few washers in crossbrace to clear downpipe. Sound is deep and burble-ish not obnoxious. Welds are top notch not many bends in the pipe at all. Hardest part of install was getting studs out of oem cat. Had to use a fire wrench.
I would recommend Perrin products.

I sold my Sti and bought and evo 9. I m use to the loud low rumble from the Sti and hoping to get an exhaust that will equal to the same Hp and sound. I know that the evo9 wont ever sound the same as the sti . Im just hoping to have something that sounds similar. Any suggestion .
3" dp with DMH 3"cutout & Trust Power Extreme Titanium catback exhaust. . .
Sound kinda quiet when the cutout is closed but all hell breaks loose when the cutout is fully opened up... ...

^^^ Believe it or not from the guy who wants an exhaust system quieter than stock, I have had that exhaust before on my car.
The most nicest looking exhaust system I have ever seen. The welds on that thing are just perfect. Even the material they used are all polished stainless steel. So your car is blinging underneith. lol But that thing is loud and the only reason I bought it was to cut it up to make a quiet project but instead went with the buschur exhaust to make things easier for myself.

There is only 2 differences between the Evo VIII exhaust and IX exhaust.
1. The internal construction of the muffler. The VIII has a flapper that opens up during high pressure and the IX has perforated core thing.
2. The long cat-back pipe has an o2 bung on the VIII but the IX has the o2 bung in the catalytic converter.
Otherwise they are direct bolt on.
very nice. Im using the buschur tbe on mine, and i dont like it. it sounds nice, and flow is good, but that damn thing has this rattling sound and is annoying the hell out of me. Im switching to the greddy tic tbe. I like buscher, but i think having the slip on connections is bs. the exhaust was on my car when i got it, and it sticks so far out the back it might hurt someone by tripping them. and i refuse to pay to have it shortened when it should have been normal to begin with.
Do all the Hi power cat backs exit slanted?
Not too keen on the slant actually... Would love to have a HKS sreaight barrel but if not, maybe something that sounds similar at WOT
