how do i hook up the stock blow off valve again?

im almost positive it's hooked up correct but i seem to be losing boost i think...

if the gold part is the top i hooked the bottom up to my intercooler pipe and the side to my intake... thats right right?

the vacuum line might be the problem cuz i didnt have the right t fitting to hook it up i just electrical tapped it to get me to autozone..... thats prolly it... n e good info would be cool just want to make sure the vavle is atleast right if not i only ****ed with one other thing so....

thanks

its actually placed sideways, so that the top/gold part is not looking up, but is looking forward... hope u understand, and hope this is what u were asking

the bov has 2 ports - inlet, and outlet. there are actually small arrows printed on the bov itself, near the entry points. the hose from your UICP goes into the "bottom of the bov" (inlet), and then the 2nd hose comes out from the "side" of your bov (outlet), and goes into the air intake pipe

the vacuum line must be air tight

ya that confused me alittle but ya thats how i have it hooked up. i have the buschur upper ic pipe so the gold is the top and faces up for me. straight under the cap in the port going to my IC pipe and the side port with the arrow pointing away from the valve hooks to my intake

So if you happen to hook it up backwards or reversed what happens and how does it react?

It would never relieve the pressure after throttle body closes. Take your car out and spool the turbo and if you hear it blow off its correct......

The easiest way to figure out which way the stock diverter valve is to look for the side with the bottom of the piston showing. That end should hook up to the intercooler piping.

The logic behind it is that the pressure source (top intercooler pipe) will be supplying pressure to push open the piston when you release the throttle.

Hope that makes sense and less confusing as opposed to the traditional method of explanation.

two way? no.... just a 1 way valve. when the compressed air gets stopped by the throttle body plate closing it bounces back and the blow off valve activates and releases the air. once the intake manifold sees zero pressure it sends the signal to the bov and the bov opens and releases all pressure from ic piping. if its hooked up backwards it would never release any air out. I've yet to see someone hook a bov up backwards though. Ussually they have flanges that attach to the upper ic piping.

if u hook it up backwards, it will cause compressor surge and in time will ruin the turbo.

the gold part of the ix bov should be facing the exhaust manifold with the nipple pointing up next to the radiator hose. the bov is then sideways looking. the opening closest to the gold part should be going into the intake pipe and the other opening which is the bottom should be connected to the uicp.

if ur loosing boost, u may just not have everything tight.
