2nd Gear lockout

OK so first off i have a friend that has a 04 evo 8. He has been having problems with his trans. When he is at high rpms he gets locked out of 2nd gear any other time it is fine. He has gotten the trans rebuilt nothing, he did a exedy triple upgrade since he had the twin in and nothing. We tried switching the shifter cables nothing. We put in a totally different trans and still nothing. Then we did a stiffer motor mount and all the shifter bushing and having the same problem.

Please help

Did he push the clutch all the way in when his at high rpm and its still gets lock? If so I would check the clutch. i know some after market clutch can screw up the tranny.

Yes the clutch is pushed all the way in. Other people have driven the car with the same results.

OK so try amsoil, the only thing that is wired is that there where two different trannys we tried and we know that one was good in another car(or so the person said)
