2nd Gear lockout
#18
Buy a new car? j/k I just recall I had the same problem before couldn't get into 2nd I think if you just recently rebuilt the tranny or whatever u might need to let it break in a little it kinda have a small ration inbetween gears. it worked for me this way. Now I have a transfer case problem after smoking a S2K the other night.....

One common problem I see with some transmission rebuilds is they replace only the syncros, sometimes if the trans was so bad prior to the rebuild it could have zinged the 1-2 hub/slider. The hub/slider could have some burs on it causing the issue. I've seen it before. Find out if the hub/slider were replaced when it was rebuilt. The hub/slider is what engages the syncros and lines them up, if it is chewed up then it will cause all sorts of problems.

I would seriously try adjusting the clutch pedal. I have some notchyness in my 2nd and 3rd gears, so I first switched out my transmission to AMSOIL. It helped, especially when warm, but It was still happening when it was cold. So I started to adjust my clutch pedal. I adjusted it pretty far down, and was very happy with it at first. It completely got rid of the notchiness during normal driving. But when I got around to doing some high rpm shifts I started having lock-out. I adjusted it back up and it wen't away.

get a hold of this guy elhalisf on here, he had this problem and he didn;t let it go till he figured it out, it pretty much have to do with spacing out ur gears correctly, so just because ur tranny has been built, that doesn;t mean its been shimmed correctly. get a hold of him, and he should explain it to u better and maybe help u out.
he's in phoenix btw.
