Trans Prob

I WAS IN MY BUDDYS evo and he was going into boost in third and by the time he shifted at 8500 rpms (NLTS) to 4th the gear just seized and the rpms jumped all over to rev limiter and now the gear is stuck in 2nd gear and you cant change it ... its like nothing else is there = open space..

no leakage found no holes....

a trans mysterty?

Check you shifter bushings and cables under the hood.

He probably just ripped out of the shifter bushings.

check the shifter bushings under the center console where your gear selector is. Make sure that the linkage is all together over there. Then check under the hood. If you take out the battery, you can see the shifter linkage that goes into the tranny. Search the how to forum for the shifter bushing install to see what to look for. If all looks good from the outside then somethign either broke or came apart and is jamming up the gears not allowing it to engage/disengage. Was there any loud sound besides the car revving to the mooon?

Does the shifter just flop arround or is it unmovable in 2nd? You may have seized the gear to the shaft. did he miss shift into 2nd instead of shifting into 4th?
