Need some help!

Hey everyone

02' lancer oz with 124k stock. I noticed that when i turn on the car (cold) it revs up to 2,200 rpms for about 3 sec then slowly lowers to about 1,100 rpms until the car warms up normally then at normal temp, sits at 600 RPM (is this normal?) Then when i shift it into any gear from park or nutral instead of the RPMs lowering because of the load like normal the RPMs increese and hit 1000RPM before the trany gets into gear, then sit at 850RPMs+- 50 when in gear, also vibrates alot only under load, disapears in park or nutral or if i increese the RPMS to 1000. Could a clogged EGR or IAC cause this? I had a P0301 code cylinder 1 misfire and wires and plugs gapped at 0.042 took care of that prob, also replaced the air filter, pcv valve and oil filter and oil. Trans fluid is light transpearent color and smells clean and is at the proper level when hot and run in every gear prior to check. But i have a P0442 small evap leak code now, dont know if this is related? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

its normal for the high rev on startup ...cars shipped to colder climates have a cold start flash built into the ecu program...it gets the stuff up to temp faster ...I would reset the computer by unhooking the battery , check the gas gap and or replace it and see if the code reappears

Thanks for the info man, interesting i never knew that! I replaced the gas cap the old one had some cracks on the o-ring, i reset the ecu (unhooking the batt) and after 75 miles i got the light again. This code sucks, i guess it can be up to 0.020 of an inch hole.. But is it still normal for the car to high rev when putting the car into gear? At "P" or "N" the car idles around 650. when putting it into gear it revs up to around 1000 then gets into gear and the rpms rest around 800-900 in gear

seriously hahaha why would you make a code for that its rediculous. I guess ill just have to start replacing hoses! Is the trans filter on an auto 01 oz replaceable after the pan is off? i know its usually a non-service part but if its easy to get to when the pan is off i might as well do it.

UPDATE***

the p0442 code was a faulty gas cap, the oring had many small spyder cracks on it.. now i have a p0456 (evap very small leak detected) where the hell am i suppost to find this one guys? I did do a vac test on the purge solinoid under the hood.. the purge solinoid did not hold vacumm with the car on of off, im guessing this could be the problem?

p0442 can be a ton of things and is pretty common among all cars. On mitsu the main thing i have seen is the canister vent valve or loose gas caps. But sometimes it is just a bad gas cap.

Im going to be replacing the canister vent valve next because at first i tested the purge solinoid and it held vac so that couldnt be it, i inspected all the hoses i could find and they looked suprisingly well. I replaced the gascap with a brand new OEM one from mitsubishi, re-set the code and it came back on within 40 miles. So im thinking that the vent valve may be the culprit here. Is there any way to test this befor repacing?

Check or change your PCV after 48kms, under $10- and saves you tons of gas and more engine power !

I have changed my PCV already about 2,300 miles ago! I replaced the vent valve near the canister, was good for 98 miles then came back on. Im sending it it mitsu to be looked at i dont want to keep buying expensive parts to find out it was a pin size hole in one of the lines.
