Whining noise in rear.

Whining noise in rear.

Well thats it really.. just noticed this whining sound comming from the rear. I read a post a while ago about this but couldnt remember for the life of me what it said + the search engine on this site has changed to the point i cant find a thing. Please help

Does the volume/ tone of it change with speed or with RPM? Any other info? Try searching with quote marks around your phrases. I've had more success getting results like I used to that way, even when just puting quotes around 2-3 words.

Ummm not that Ive noticed...I was just about to get out turning of the i-pod..then i hear this Whheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee barley audible but then once you focus on it you hear it clearly... got while it was running and heard it around the rear axle. Then i got mad cause my sweatpants got soaked

If the pitch doesn't change w/either revs or road speed, I vote fuel pump. Is is a Walbro? Those suckers can get LOUD... I was really freaked out the first time I heard mine, when my tank was just about bone dry.

yep yep its a Walboro. Well at least im not alone then. It didnt get any louder with my head half way up my cars a$$ so maybee thats it.

definitely the fuel pump...it almost hisses if you listen to it from the rear wheels wells...nothing to worry about
