So does it really matter which Spec clutch I choose? I looked through the MAPerformance wesbite and I saw the 7.25 version. Is this sufficient?

You'd want the SuperTwin, not the mini.

Tilton Rally has been holding up great on a 600awhp daily driver.

I might also mention that the ST has organic friction material and is the most factory-like where smooth engagement is concerned. I have the P-Trim, which has Kevlar facings, and is a little more aggressive, but yet still plenty refined.

Would you care to elaborate on this? I have an Exedy Twin HD, which is exceedingly difficult to drive - point-in-case NOBODY has yet managed to drive my car w/out stalling it. I've learned to manage it with a lot of practice. So is your statement in regards to the QM related to it being lighter and therefore more difficult to launch?

Also, what is the estimated rebuild cost on the P-Trim?

Lighter and smaller make lightweight, small diameter clutches difficult to launch cleanly in daily driving, which causes the stalling.

As for the exact rebuild cost of the SPEC, I only recall that the general figure is reasonable.

I have the SS trim Spec twin disc and having only put 200 miles on it and need at least another 300 for a proper break-in, can say that this twin disc is absolutely awesome to drive with pedal feel AND effort being just like stock!! The SS-trim is there "entry" level supertwin with both discs being one side full faced Carbon-Kevlar and the other a Carbon Metallic 6 puck. One disc is spring hub and the other is solid hub. NO rattling or any other noises that some people complain about with a twin disc...hope this helps

A question about spec, their entry torque capacity is 900, does anyone actually make 700+wtq?? That's crazy and I don't see why the higher trim's would be needed.

Is there any downside to an over rated clutch like the P-trim?

I'm a little suspect as to how much tq. they actually will hold, but I won't be making anywhere near 900lb ft. of tq....more like 550 lb/ft once I go 35psi on full tilt with E85 on my FP HTA35r

The clutch should handle what ever you throw at it.....they have a lot of surface area and a good diaphragm. I have a 6262 on my car and it had absolutely no signs of slipping.....even when I was making 33psi

I've had my Exedy Twin for a week and am still breaking it in but can chime in confirming everything you've already read. Yes, it sounds like a coffee grinder when disengaged. It's also pretty smooth engagement. I'm coming from an ACT that blew a spring out of the clutch disk at Lime Rock, taking a chunk of metal housing with it. So far I'm quite pleased with the twin and hope to start autoXing it within the next week or two.

Any more updates on the Spec Super Twin (SS or PT trims)?
