hey guys..i just installed my ams tbe with test pipe.....im hearing a rattling periodically...i have 3 washers on each side of my front brace to help space it out for the downpipe...my evo is a ix mr......any ideas of what it could be.....thankss

 

somethings loose? check all the bolts make sure everything is fastened tight

 

Check the bolts that used to hold a bracket for the rear O2 sensor, I had to cut out one of those.

Three washers on the tie bar is enough, that is what I'm running on mine.

 

yea i dont know what it is it does the same thing on my IX

 

i kinda got the same thing going on too. i installed my ams v1 tbe a couple weeks ago and it was fine. but now that its snowing out and frozen snow/ice blocks are everywhere it rubs on everything underneath my IX. so yesterday i noticed that there is a periodic vibration going on underneath the car ( at startup and idle). i know its the tbe rubbing against something, i havent got the car up yet to see what it is yet though. it sounds like my old celicas exhaust used to when it would rattle sometimes at start up and idle. my old buschur down pipe had a small piece of heat shield clamped on to it, used for a pad, and never made any noise so im probably going to put another piece of it on the ams dp where it touches.
