Perrin?? Oh God, no.

The AMS doesn't have fitment problems. It's one of the best out there, but it's just priced so high.

My vote goes for the BR TBE - it includes a CEL fix. I just installed mine this past weekend, and although I didn't expect it, I like it much more than my Megan. The sound is much meaner and nastier, it weighs 10lbs less, and it feels stronger (I won't make claims about this until I've re-dyno'd, because the power/spool difference could just be in my head). You can get the BR for $200 less than the AMS TBE, and you have your choice of test pipe vs HFC, and your choice of 3 mufflers: quiet/heavier magnaflow, sleek/attractive/light/powerful/loud Bullet, or all out race muffler.

Perrin = Quality 3", never necks down to less. IMO best looking exhaust on the market, have only heard good things about fitment/sound.

Why not?

fyi, i don't own this exhaust.

Just look at it www.Perrinperformance.com

Best looking exhaust on the market? Are you serious? Come on, now, Perrin just makes generic stuff and doesn't even participate in the Evo community. They snicker all the way to the bank each time some Evo guy randomly picks their products without realizing they don't even do any work to be sure their stuff is top notch in terms of power/fitment/looks. I've had multiple people tell me they learned the hard way by going with Perrin due to previously owning a Subie or due to being from the NorthWest only to be disappointed after the fact.

I'm pretty sure the only place you can get the AMS exhaust is off of AMS' website or you can try to find someone who is selling it used.

What do you mean? It's an AMS product - AMS sells it, and it costs $1000. BR costs you $825. Your username says you have a IX, and your sig says you have an AMS TBE. What's wrong with this picture?

Even though we are disagreeing, this is helarious because i totally agree LOL.

I have only talked to 2 people who have used this unit in all honesty, and both say they LOVE it.

The rest of what you said is fairly true, i can't fight with that. Except it is the best looking cat-back on the market, and i think it was a false claim that it looks generic; show me another companies similar looking piece.

I have RnR 3" TBE, magnaflow muffler with a test pipe. Very good fitment, not too loud even with a test pipe. Can't beat the price either. Took some time to get here, but well worth the wait.

You can get the AMS TBE or Cat-back from Lancershop for a bit cheaper than the AMS website. Shipping is cheaper too. It's a little more expensive than quite a few other exhausts out there, but it comes with some nice features like hangers and it sounds really nice.

I also had a Buschur TBE with the Magnaflow & test pipe. It wasn't too bad an idle, but it was damn loud at WOT. Check out my site www.sp00lin.com for my two 1/4 mile races and that'll give you an idea of what it sounds like.

I have the RNR turboback with HKS carbon/ti muffler and its awesome. Very light compared to stock but probably not as light as Buschurs bullet system. I only have the catback on at the moment and I love it. Very deep rumble even with the stock cat and downpipe. Fitment was perfect besides tweaking the hangers a little bit to get the muffler to sit right. I've heard my exact system with the dp and testpipe and OMG its a LOUD mothafcka! very deep roar with no ricer raspiness. One of the best sounding systems IMO if you're going to be running catless. Besides my system I would only go with the Buschur. Both are about the same price mine being $850 shipped (w/ cel fix and polished piping) and the Buschur being $825 shipped (dont know if it includes polished piping and the cel fix)
