Megan o2 housing different than the old ebay o2 housing?

I was reading an older post from David Buscher from 2005, and he had wonderful results with the eBay o2 housing:

Below is the dyno graph. It's pretty amazing. This is on PUMP GAS and has been all day! The car gained 13 whp and 12 ft lbs of torque.
Those gains of 13 whp and 12ft/lb are wonderful! Back in the day, people said the megan racing housing was the same as a few others, including what they called the "ebay o2 housing". I later read that Buscher said they can no longer find these good o2 housings on ebay anymore.

What is the deal? Are the current Megan Racing o2 housings any different than the ebay o2's of the past? It would be great to get those type of gains today, without paying out our asses.

They are still the same. I think. You buy them port and coat them and you will get those gains.

I don't want to port it due to its already thin walls, but it is nice to know the design wasn't changed too much from back in the day.

I just got an "ebay" housing, it will need a lot of work to clean it up. Spent 1 hr tonight and it will probably need another hour. I had a used megan unit but thought i wasn't going to use it and sold it, that was a much better piece. This should work ok i just need to blend in a bunch of welds. The opening from the wastegate side to the exhaust side was very small and odd shaped, should have taken a pic. So i pretty much got that opened up and blended in.

There really isn't any porting to be done with a quality housing. The "ebay" housing doesn't recieve much work on the inside of the housing. They grind/ polish the outside but the inside still needs work.
