FP Red Wait List
Some people will want the completely stock appearance, and will stick with the Evo IX compressor cover. Others will want the new one, and won't care about the undercover look of the "stock" one. It's nice to have the option to choose either.
I expect that the new compressor cover will be available for existing Red owners to purchase if they think that it would make a worthwhile improvement in performance. That's not obvious yet.
i have to agree with the above. what if some of us (me) have a brand new red never used still in the box do i send mine in for the upgrade for free. I should not have to pay a damn thing all that does is make a customer think twice about buying another product from them GOOD OR BAD you will always have in your mind if i buy this is the newest product around the corner.

FP are good people, but you might be stretching it a bit...
That's a unsupported stretch. The Red, using the modified stock compressor cover, ran a 9.5 ET, and has put out well over 550HP by lots of owners now. If you call that kind of performance a "flaw", you'd better identify your frame of reference. It's clearly not a response to a "design flaw". It's another expensive testament to FP going the second mile to make sure that the turbos they offer are the very best that they can sell, even if they have to make the parts themselves. Where else are you going to find that?

The average Evo owner will never see 9's with the Red much less mid 9's. Those are all out race setups with a ton of time, planning, and money into those setups. The flaw I speak of is surge. There is no disputing the FP Red in its original form surges. This new modification FP has done is designed to fix that. It is unclear to me as of yet if the increased inlet size would actually be an aid in power performance as well but it most definitely is designed to either lower or eliminate surging from the FP Red completely.
It looks like an Evo 8 housing as well. I don't think the Greens were offered in that.
The White Rabbit still used a billet 5 bladed wheel like the Green, that one has a 6 blade wheel. It's probably a stock VIII turbo.
Don't know if it's this thread or another one going around but just look on fp's sire they have pics there.
yea they have pics on their site but ill post pics of it in compareson with a soda can like everyone else does hahaha
