Safe to use FP5R??

I just recently put some fp5r is in my evo9 and want to be sure they are safe to use with a stock bottom end? I upgraded to super tech single springs and retainers. The car is running great and i had it tuned by my tuner and all seems to be fine. i guess i just don't want to have any problems down the road?? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

dont you think you should have done any research first before you purchased and got them installed??

the 5r's are not to be run with anything stock on an evo motor. That is one nasty aggresive cam!.

that cam is only for a turbo as small as a 35r.

so goodluck.

Just for clarity, the 5R has much higher lift and duration than stock cams, making the setup of the cams much more important, because the clearances are smaller.

They can be used with a turbo smaller than a 35R however. See 9sec9's Red record, for example. They should be supported with the other mods that make them work the best, though.

Well the research that i did do involved asking my shop that I buy all my goodies from would be the most closest match to set of Cosi M3's and we decided the 5r would be good. Opps **** happens luckily i think the shop will help me out on this one and i installed them my self. I guess i am just going to get good at taking out cams.

Next thought is do you think i could have banged valves into pistons? I mean the car is running great and feels so strong. Or is there an issue only if have valve float?

You would be having some issues if you were banging pistons.

You are probably fine running them.

If you want to be precise in your evaluation, a leak down test is simple and would tell you all you need to know about whether your valves are sealing properly.

B/c of the snapping issues. Anyways I got a hold of fp today and they told me that i should definitely switch to fp4r but they doubt anything bad has gone wrong from what i have been telling them. So hopefully all is well. just bought my new cam .
