Question with which wires to go with? People are having problems with the Magnecor 8mm and 8.5mm cause of fitment issues. I heard its best to go with new stock or ralliart wires. What's the good word?

I went with the stock wires, only paid $40ish for them new. Solved my backfire/cut out problems.

I still think that 0.028 gap is too much for that amount of boost. I'm currently running .021 running 27psi on E85. I could be wrong though...

Goodluck!

So after putting in the new plugs i did not torque them down to spec with an actual torque wrench. I torqued them down to factory spec 18pounds. That was the culprit. I no longer have any issues with a backfire or hesitation. Thx for everybody's help and suggestions. I still plan on swapping out the wires for mileage reasons...

Wires are probably good. If problem comes back try closing to 0.026"since it's happening near peak VE and the gap is slightly wide even for 24 psi.

Two things, it really isn't a good idea running WOT without knowing your AFR if fuel maps were set for methanol, you can melt down the engine at 18psi running stoich at WOT. Also, a loose spark plug is an easy way to send engine parts through the block. Without proper torque the plug has no means to transfer it's thermal energy to the head. It may become hot enough to preignite the air fuel mix during the compression stroke, devistating! Keep them torqued

BTW, my son say's hello to everyone
