Whistling noise while driving.

Sounds like a whistle. Not consistent. Just certain RPMs it stands out more. 04 Evo VIII. Probably the stock diverter valve? Anyone have picture or something that will help me identify the stock diverter valve? What can I do to check it?

Thanks guys.

do you have any mods? do a boost leak test. check that all clamps are tight, etc.

the stock bpv looks like this except it is black plastic. it is located on the intake pipe connected to the turbo. http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...&cat=27&page=1

I got a turbo spooling up noise which is noticeably louder and not a high pitch whistle sound but more of a wooshing after I installed my front mount and lower pipe. I thought it was a boost leak but all the clamps are really tight and on there.... Is that normal?

We have the dealership and a few other places. But I prefer paying the extra $$ to be safe with the dealership. We are soon going to have an all evo shop open here soon!

just go get a boost like test done, or if you have an air compressor you can rig up your own just search for the how to, the dv valve is the plastic piece thats comes off of your upper pipe and recircs back into the middle of the intake.
