performance after HKS RS intake

just finished installing the HKS RS intake. heres are my thoughts and some problems.

installation:

removing the stock parts are pretty straight forward. but the clamp on the pipe going into the turbo is the hardest to get. u need a long handle ranch and some guessing to get to the nut.

when you are putting in the new filter and the pipe, do not tighten everything at once. leave them a little loose for adjustments.

driving impression:

WOW!! LOUDDDDDD. whenever i let go of the gas pedal above 3k RPM, whooooooooosh. sounds like an aftermarket blowoff valve. but here's the problem. i feel like i have lost some power. the kick around 3500 RPM is no longer pushes you back into the recaro. its still there but def less than what i had before.
i checked all connection after i came back and seems fine. and the idle does seem a little high than before like some ppl stated.

could the loss of power come from the plastic stock BOV? i had a HKS downpipe before the HKS intake and the car felt .

i think when you dyno the performance increase of an air intake, many factors are not accounted for.

-the biggest one in my opinion is that the vacuum and low pressure areas created while driving cannot be simulated on the dyno...

This has been covered...simply put:

If you don't install a fuel management system with an air intake system... You WILL lose power. So call up Z1 and order an SAFC 2! It deals with the MAF system for some reason not adjusting accordingly to the new intake...I believe it adds more fuel than necessary to compensate for the extra air...Thus losing horsepower. It has even happened with Flat panel filters.

I think there is a low end loss but High End wise I think its the same or better. Besides We are basically trading off the LOW END for that WHOOSH sound hahahah.
