You could (and should) take it somewhere other than the dealer and pay ~half that.

Never drove the car passed 4k? Come on.

You're either lying, or shouldn't own an evo.

IM sure a place will do it cheaper but dealer is going to use all oem parts and warranty their work up to 60 thousand miles. what sucks is that everything in their is broke, clutch, bearings, flywheel, shift boot, plus replace all the seals, fluids. and labor sucks too

RPM has little to do with clutch wear anyhow. In other words whatever rpm you had the engine too is irrelevant unless you were slipping the clutch at the same time.

Slipping the clutch (riding it while taking off from a stop) or when shifting are what wears clutches out prematurely.

Dealers don't warranty work...that's the oldest trick. Go aftermarket...

No, but that's how clutches work. A clutch only wears when there is friction between the flywheel / disc / pressure plate. The rest of the time it's clamped together with the clutch springs and nothing is wearing.

We would be able to set you up with ACT aftermarket performance clutch and matching lightweight flywheel for half the cost of the stock clutch that will burn out again in another 4000 miles. Mitsubishi will NOT warranty a burnt out clutch and that is what is going to happen.

Let us know if you would rather have an expert service your clutch for $1300-1500, use performance parts, lightweight flywheel, fully synthetic performance REDLINE transmission and transfercase fluids and get it done same day.

+1, also launching the car. Depending how many miles were on the clutch, the odds are it was being launched a lot.

Save yourself a headache and DO NOT get OEM. You're begging for this to happen again. Even if you don't now, you will start driving the car spirited, and you are going to blow that clutch again. OEM only handles 330hp or so then you're done. Get an Exedy organic if you want a smooth clutch and strength. I went OEM twice and I completely regretted it.

Edit: Or go with ACT with TTP. Just be aware the more expensive the clutch the harder it's going to grab and if you want that stock feel, go non puck with springs. They'll help you out with what you're trying to find.

what would it cost if you use OEM parts? cause right now dealer is giving me a full year warranty on the clutch and flywheel if anything happens two them but again they are taking twice as much money as you guys

There is no such thing as a year warranty from the dealer. It is a wear item and they will not warranty it if you burn it up.

Same reason you will not get warranty on brake pads.

They are warrantying their WORKMANSHIP meaning if the flywheel bolts fall out or the rear main seals fails due to their install, they may consider fixing it at their discretion. They will not under any circumstances install a new clutch for you if you burn it up.

+1000, Their warranty only covers something that will not happen.
