Spark Plug ?'s

Okay guys, I've searched but haven't found any real information on what I'm looking for. I had my wife go out for me to buy plugs for my car, I told her all the stuff she needed to know.. 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 2.0L Turbo, and that the plugs had to be Iridium. So she came home with them they looked like the right ones, but once I got the coil packs off the car and looked down into the plug wells I noticed the nut on the spark plugs in the car were HUGE! Now with all the other cars I've owned (this being my first turbo car) everything was 5/8in. to get the plugs out.. Well what's in my car now is not 5/8 more like 3/4! But I didn't have any deep welled sockets big enough to go down there. The plugs that my wife brought home fit just how there supposed to in the 5/8 socket, but the ones in the car dwarf the 5/8..
So for one, what is the stock nut/bolt size of the stock spark plugs because 5/8ths isn't it..
Also I looked on Evomoto.com and noticed the ones she bought have a different part # than the ones the site provided. The ones she picked up are NGK BKR5EIX-11, but the ones on the site show BPR(6-8)EIX. So right there I'm figuring they sold her the wrong plugs because of the heat ranges alone. So if any of you guys have some insite on this I'd appreciate it.
And lastly, your not supposed to gap iridium plugs, but I see most people gapping their plugs to .026 even though your not supposed to gap iridium plugs? If I went with BPR7EIX, what millimeter is the 7 heat range? I only have a drop in and a TBE, un-tuned.

Thanks guys,
Nate

The spark plugs are 13/16in. I'm not sure about the other questions though.

IGR7A-G is the stock plug for your car. It has irridium electrode and platinum ground and comes pregapped to 0.027". It's the perfect plug for your application. Go 1 step colder for every 80HP added. If boost levels inhibit ignition you just buy the same plug pregapped to 0.024".

These are your specs so you can cross reference:
Extreme Long Life Laser Iridium Plug, 14mm Thread, 19mm (3/4") Reach, 13/16" (20.6mm) Hex Size, Gasket Seat, Resistor, Projected Tip, Iridium Tipped Fine Wire Center Electrode with Platinum Tipped Ground Electrode, Solid Terminal, .027" (0.7mm) Gap, Heat Range 7

The BPR7's you chose will work fine but will not last 5000 miles. They won't support a gap as well as the irridiums (or even nickle) so you will loose a little power.

I just ordered some R6252E-9's to see how they will compare to the current BPR9ES
