boost leak or faulty boost controller?

I just got my car tuned last Saturday and my problem is that my boost won't surpass 22 psi. Once the tuner kept cranking the boost controller (Perrin boost controller), the boost was going back down to 21, 20, 19 psi. The more he turned the boost up, the more it dropped. But when he boosted it back down, it went back to 22 psi. Has anyone ever encountered this problem? Is it a boost leak or a faulty controller? And if it was a boost leak, won't it keep staying at 22 psi when you keep turning the boost up if there was a boost leak?

What is the lowest possible boost level that you can adjust it to with the MBC? I am talking about all the way turned out to the softest(low-boost) setting. Who is your tuner?

I forgot their names but it was like John and Lucas or something like that I totally forgot. But they're from English Racing and they are really well known and very good tuners. They said I have a possible boost leak or it can be a faulty boost controller. It can't be for certain unless it's tested and I want to know how to test for boost leaks. I never tried tampering with the MBC and don't really want to mess with it and mess something up. Can you kind of notice a boost leak by driving hard and looking at the boost gauge?

Yes, your tuners are reputable. Those guys are really well known. Don't they have a boost leak tester at their shop? You can make your own from a few Home Depot ingredients.

You should be able to find a few 'How-To" threads with pics on here if you were to search.

They actually came up to Drift Office in Auburn and it was only dyno tuning so it was pretty limited for them to look into my car too because they had a lot of cars to dyno tune. Thanks for your advice. I'm going to look into how to make a boost leak tester.
