HELP! Tranny from Block:how?

This is where im at right now. everything was pulled together. ALL the bolts are out of the tcase and the tranny. Is the tranny just resting on the spline and i need just a good yank. Is there a Fork in the tranny that i cant find? some input would be great trying to get these apart.

you probably have not released the TOB from the pressure plate, if you have done that though, then give it a good yank

You have to pop the throw out bearing. I've never done it but I'm sure someone will chime in how to do it. Or if you search tob it should come up.

how do i undo the "arm" that is attached to the TOB. theres a giant spring and an "arm" hold the TOB in place how do we get under there and take the hook off to do all this.

use a flat head to release the throw out bearing. when it is released the fork will pop to the right and free up. then pull the tranny n motor apart

you need to set the tranny back in its original place and put a bolt or two to hold it there... then you can stick a flat head inside the bottom inspection hole and put it in between the throw out bearing and the preasure plate... then release it...

it will take a bit of muscle but just make sure you push the lever into the preasure plate.. then at the same time you are prying.. pull it out along witht the bearing and the bearing should release...

If that doesnt work... get a 1/4 ratchet with a 3-4in extension with a 12mm at the end and stick it in where the fork is and detatch the preasure plate by removing each bolt one at a time while turning the motor...

sounds like you didnt take the output shaft out that links the transmission to the transfer case.

Look at this and see where the screwdriver is inserted between the wdge collar and TOB

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...t-bearing.html

Insert screwdriver accordingly, and with the other hand, push the lever all the way towards the engine. Put some a$$ into it. Now turn the screwdriver 90 degrees. The wedge collar will come off and the lever will relax and go fully towards the engine. It may take a few times, so be patient.

As for the other stuff i see, jack that cherry picker up a bit more and rest the engine on something to take the weight off so that you can rotate the tc/gearbox back to the correct position. Also, rest it on something to take the weight off of it safely. If you have not already released the TOB, do it now. Finally, take a flathead screwdriver, insert between the gearbox and engine and start working the gearbox away from the engine, from left to right up top and on the bottom or vice-versa. Try not to drop the gearbox when it finally is off the engine. Get someone to assist you, if possible.
