random idle problem

i got tuned from ivey a few months back and idk with my car its like a random think once in a while stopped at a red light or something my car will studder for a second and go back to normal. also sometimes when going from a gear to neutral my A/F ratio will lean out for a few seconds then go back to normal its a very odd problem any suggestions or ideas?

Does this happen with your AC on/off the same? I know that when I use AC my idle may occasionally go low to the point where it almost feels like it will stall, but it never does.

I think my A/F ratio does something similar, but can't remember off the top of my head. I know that when coasting (say to a stop light) it goes to nothing for a bit, then when it drops down to the proper idle rpm it does a bit of dancing. I'll watch it next time I drive.

BTW - do you have aftermarket cams? If so, has it always done this or only after cams?

i never have my a/c on so it just does it no matter what..but it does do that sometimes like its gona stall but then after a few seconds right back to normal like nothing happened...i have stock cams but most of the basic bolt ons like intake exhaust intercooler piping and tuned...when i throw it in neutral from a gear sometimes the idle drops to like 700 or 800 and the A/F ratio leans out then goes back to where it should be

Hmmm, aftermarket intake? I know sometimes those can play with idle.

I think it is normal - as long as it doesn't idle running lean. I know mine bounces around as the motor does its thing.

Could be a sign of a failing Throttle Position Sensor. Mine acted that way until I had to replace my TPS.

Sounds like the intake messing with the idle lower load cells.

my car does the same, but not at idle, most noticeable in stop and go traffic when moving in gear then when i take out of gear to cost my rpm's will drop almost stalling but never does, I have alike mods. I also thought a tune would solve this problem but it dident so it must be the intake cause I dont remember having this problem until after I installed it, I dont thinck its something to be overly concerned with though

yeah the only time my idle drops is when goin from a gear to neutral but sometimes the afr will also go lean thats my only concern because otherwise my car runs fine...throttle position sensor idk i only have 12500 miles

yeah i came in about a month ago to explain it to you and you raised my idle a little bit but it seems to do the same thing still its not such a big deal it just gets annoying since it comes at very random times

yes, its very weird actually when the car randomly stumbles at a stoplight(has never stalled) my afr goes rich as hell then when it happens from going to a gear to neutral the afr goes way lean to the point where the wideband wont even read...after a few seconds it does go back to normal though do you have any ideas sean?
