Meth Kit or Bigger Turbo?
Hey everyone, I'm sort of at a crossroads right now in my modding. I'm trying to decide on my next big power mod: Should I go meth or a upgrade to a bigger turbo (preferably an FP Red)? It seems a meth kit would be cheaper, but also riskier. A bigger turbo would require more money, as I'd have to get injectors, headstuds, etc. My goal is 400whp+ if that matters. So please guys, help me decide!

Most will say search but looking at the mods in ur sig I would say go meth Aquamist FTW! No need to worry with meth just make sure you have failsafes set.

What boost level was that 365 IveyTuned WHP achieved at?
EDIT: Ivey has your car laying down a very respectable torque number. If it was me I would do a CBRD BBK-Full(with Chad's porting option), a larger throttle body, a ported intake manifold, a ported stock exhaust manifold, and larger injectors. This should get you well up over 400, naturally, w/o drugs. Further down the road, you could add the Meth if you wish. Oh yeah, go to a thicker core IC(Buschur Race, etc.), as well.

i went with my red first.. But without meth you really cant get the full potential of the red.. So up to you i would go meth and supporting mods like injectors and studs.. Then the turbo later............ Unless you go E85 Then turbo and no need meth

Dude your on a 9 turbo either reflash your own map or get a map switch(Tephra Mod) for meth or get larger injectors, port your intake mani and TB, get meth and turn that sucker up to 30 psi and tune the crap out of it. That will bring you over 400 but I have a question do you think you will need lets say 420hp all day everyday?

IX turbo + alky I made 360whp/350wtq on dyno dynamics, the car was FUN AS HELL! +40whp/+50wtq over my pump gas tune at the flick of a button:

Now I have a BBK and make 375whp/323wtq on pump gas, the car is not as torquey but has the power up top.
Really depends on how much $$ you want to spend and what fuel you want to use. Alky gets you to more power quicker for cheaper, but you need to dink around with it a bit more. Going to a BBK (specifically) will yield awesome results and you get to stick with pump gas only, but the torque numbers (i.e. a lot of fun) won't be there until you figure out how to run more boost.

bigger turbo.. meth is good.. great power but you have to fill it up like your gas tank..420whp would be fun to drive every day.. but i have the cosworth m2 cams also... not fun for daily driving.

I would go with the Red first, then meth later. I'm tuned at 25psi and numbers are in my sig. If you wanted a little more hp/tq than that Ivey will tune you to 27psi if you ask him to. He just likes to keep a nice safety margin but he can get you to around 440whp@27psi.
