fidanza test pilot elect?
^ I don't know man..... 1k miles it pretty nutz. I normally bed clutches in with a couple hard launches. The reason most companies tell you to take it easy is its somewhat likely your car wasn't put back together correctly.
Most Kevlar is gonna make some noise its just the price you pay..... just like the twin disk rattle.

You know my background... The Kevlar conditions in MUCH more slowly than the other common materials. Some clutch material is not TOO much different than brake pads (very loose comparison to proffer a point). You need to bed brakes to allow a certain amount of "surfacing", and esp pad transfer. You want a layer of pad compound to adhere to the friction surface of the rotor. One wants a similar thing to happen with a clutch to an extent. Some clutch discs CAN be "set" just like a set of performance brake pads. Kevlar is NOT one of these materials. Break it in too fast, or not at all, and it WILL sing to you every time you attempt a light/slipping engagement. Such as taking off from a stop while daily driving/pulling into the garage.
I'll tell you that other than the narrow engagement point, AFTER a few k you could not tell the difference of my Fidanza 3.2 and an OE clutch noise wise. This is due to the "easy" extended break in. Kevlar offered in these production Average Joe clutches needs to wear in more slowly.
Granted, I do know a person who "glazed" (drag racing) their CM Kevlar and it "recovered" after miles of wear, however, I don't suggest Kevlar for people going to the strip. Kevlar is my choice for daily driving/track days.
BTW Jeff... this was put in "layman's terms" for the masses...

i'm mentally preparing myself for an extended break in. it may be tough, but sounds to be worth it. thanks for the feedback guys, i'm gonna go jack the car up and get to work! pressure plate and flywheel should be balanced an' ready to go tomorrow or thursday. thanks much for the reassurance, i will report back.
now lets see how long it takes me to install - i may very well get sidetracked with porting this, testing that, bunging this and wiring that....
