What do you think about the cams so far? Idle? Driveability? Might dump my Cosworth M2's for these.

I love them. I have not got in to the aem ems yet, but with the stock ecu I have got it to idle and drive better than the stock cams. This combo almost spools imo like stock in the lower gears.

Apparently I did not post the start up vids on this thread.

The valvetrain was fairly noisy till the lifters got pumped up, and until there was enough oil to mivec. Never assembling a mivec motor before there were a few unexpected noises ha.

And of course there is rain today, so no tuning or track.

20w50 in the summer, and have not decided about winter yet. That thick of oil is probably not needed, and will slow you down a bit, but I like it. As far as brand, im not particularly married to any. Looking at the oil thread on here, comparing lucas, amsoil, royal purple etc, it shows how those all rank. Really the top 5 or so I would not hesitate to use any. I lean toward Lucas, even though they rank behind amsoil and another 1 or 2. Brad penn is what we use in alcohol funny car and dragster, and apparently some people are using it in evos. I had not heard of it outside of those extreme aplications.

Will you stay on convetional even after the break in period or you will put synthetic at some point?

Great write-up and thanks for all the info and pics!

Can't wait to see some vids of the Evo in action.

I too run Cosi M2's from years back w/ Supertech singles and i think i may have a float issue so if the springs are being changed i'd consider another cam maybe some FP4R's and beehive springs? I will listen to the idle clips now....

I will try to get an idle clip in the next couple days. I got one last night, but it was with my gfs camera and it just didn't not sound that good.

For some reason, I love your selection of parts. Good luck with your car.
