Setup Questions

Okay so I ordered some parts, some of you know that my turbo just went out.. Here's what I ordered:

New Megan Manifold - Got a good deal otherwise I would not have got it
FP SS 02 Housing
FP RED
FP Oil line w/ In line oil filter
New True 3" downpipe

Here's the other mods:
Full 3" straight pipe
AEM Intake
K&N Typhoon filter and heatsheild
Precision 770cc injectors
ETS 3" I/C
TurboXS UTEC
TurboXS Boost Controller

What do you think would be a reasonable number to hit on a mustang dyno once I get it tuned? So far on the stock 8 turbo I have hit 315whp at 22psi and I plan on only boosting 24psi with the red until i get the bottom end built..

Is this setup or ?

I think you need larger injectors! What fuel are you going to run? I would have went with a ported and coated manifold.

think so? right now im not tuned and my car floods out alot. So i thought I would be good to run lower psi and lower power. Im not looking to make a crazy horsepower car, 400hp would be more than enough for me.

the reason for the manifold is that i got a great deal on it, free actually, and i bought the turbo used with 1000 miles on it, otherwise I would have got the 80MM housing and i would have got the exhaust side ported..

So what do you think i can make on 93 with a tune?

Yes I do!!! That turbo is a BEAST!!! Single 255 pump, run FIC 1150's, and if you go double pumper, FIC 950's or 1050's. I will be Running my Red on E-85, single pump 255 and FIC 1350's @ 27 PSI. Once I build my bottom end I will be going double pumper and 39 PSI!!!

but see im not going to be running 27psi on E85. Im going to be running 22-24psi max for now, it seems like your building a beast of a car, im not, i just needed something that can hold boost longer and more consistant than stock.

if you really think i need new injectors i will look into it but i would like a 2nd opinion.. anyone?

On pump gas, single 255 pump, run FIC 1150's, and if you go double pumper, FIC 950's or 1050's. 770's will not be enough. Even at low boost. If it is flooding out, it soulds like you need a tune.

When you upgrade your boost controller, go with AEM Tru boost. It's hard to hold that turbo back with a manual. Forge RS for the BOV.

Look around, most people running that turbo are running double pumps. I will need bigger injectors because of E-85.

On pump you should be fine with a single pump, but I'd definitely do larger injectors. I'm personally going with PTE 1200 injectors for my setup, but you could probably get away with 1000cc range (I'm future proofing what I can for an eventual swap to E85, once more available).

For E85 you would likely want to add that 2nd pump along with the bigger injectors. I'm not sure how race gas affects your setup, though (I have never researched as I doubt I will ever run that).

*edit - I have heard that for the low-ish boost you are shooting for that the Red's potential is not truly realized. Over 30 is where the fun is on the Red. I have heard that the BBK Full is a great option for low-ish boost levels that you are mentioning as it spools faster.

Yea i was kinda worried about that, but I got a basically new FP RED with the SS Oil line and inline filter and an install kit with polished racing J-Pipe for only $1400 shipped. So thats why I canceled my FP White order

Im kinda bumming about this injector problem now, lol

Well you don't need new injectors with the Red. Again, you just won't realize potential. You could stage this install so you don't drop cash all at once (I'm guessing that is the issue as you got some killer deals and now you are bumming).

My Red is on order for $1700 shipped with the SS Oil line and 80mm housing, so I'm happy. I just wish it would get here sooner...

yea i ordered an FP White and they gave me a ridiculous wait time so I canceled the order and found this RED and its getting shipped tomorrow.

I would like to stage the build, thats a good way to put it. Im really trying to work on preventive maintnance with my car. Pulled the T-Case and its shot, I think my transmission is going too, So those need to be replaced soon

not sure why you went with such a size turbo for your goals, but those injectors are fine for the HP you wanna make for now. much higher though you will be stressing them out more.
If you dont have them yet, bump injector size now.
I will tell you that you wont be having as much fun with these FP turbos until you up the boost.
