Question what the eff. i dont know what's wrong

haha i put a halman boost controller in (hooked up correctly) and after the install the Diverter valve started fluttering really badly.

did a boost leak test... no leaks
hooked up the stock configuration... still fluttered
got the dealer to put in a new diverter valve. still flutters. (tulsa)

they say it's normal, and i understand that many turbo cars do have a flutter. but this is intense and only started after the boost controller install.

any ideas?
coincidence and completely safe to drive?

^that is what I was going to ask. I had a similar problem when I installed an MBC, FMIC, piping, etc., also it was pretty much powerless like there was a leak.

I couldn't find a leak, people on the forum had suggestions but ultimately I just disconnected/reconnected everything and flipped the DV to make sure it was on correctly. It turned out it was correct to begin with, but disconnecting/reconnecting everything must have fixed the issue as it has run well ever since (after I flipped the DV back - I didn't care much for the duck call).

Easy enough to check the DV bottom port needs to go to the UICP and the side port to the intake

haha i must have switched the orientation the first time and assumed that the way it was installed was the correct way ever since.

... i've probably removed and reinstalled it 6 times since then.

im glad i've been taking it easy since then.
can it even work at all in reverse? i would assume that the boost pressure would keep it closed and prevent it from ever opening after the throttle has been lifted... right?
... poor turbo. guess i'll be upgrading soon. haha... aww...

You can drive with it on backwards, it just sounds funny. There might be some longer-term effects but I can't remember.
