wiped out maf and now car doesnt run right until wot????

but what doesnt make sense is how the car was perfectly fine. then 20 minutes later after cleaning the maf 2 codes pop up for totoally different things?????

^ Now I know you screwed your maf. Those are both maf sensor related codes. You either didn't plug it back up or you messed up the sensor cleaning it.

Thats why the make maf spray cleaner, so u dont need to touch it. Find a local evo buddy and do a swap just to make yourself feel better about buying another one.

The MAF is a sensitive sensor. Its the wrong thing to be touching or playing with, and even cleaning it is one of them things you only consider if its completely necessary.

And yours is definitely messed up and your gonna need to buy a new one.

well my friend has a 9 and i swapped mine and his out and it did the same thing. are the 8 and 9 maf different? When i cleaned it all i did was wipe down the inside plastic not the sensor part

check fuses also.

I believe the 8 and 9 maf's are interchangeable

I went yesterday to a speed shop and asked the same question, the owner said use carb spray cleaner, then wipe the sensor with alcohol and a cotton swab.

Unfortunately... his is more then likely already destroyed.


If you wanna know for sure.... throw an OBD scanner on the bad boy and see what the MAF is reading.

Yup your MAF is done get new one PO113 is intake air temp and 107 is the MAP function of the sensor.. I had that one too It broke down more to Map/baro..
I posted for one here and on another evo site and got some fast replies with good prices..went with someone local

ok cause i didnt want to go spending money on something I didnt need. If i swapped my friends maf in and it didnt work could it of been because i need to reset the battery for it to read right?

weird thing is i plugged my maf sensor into my friends evo and his car ran fine with it in???? this confuses me alot cause now my car wont even hold an idle and stalls sometimes. Also idk if this is anything but my fuel pump is alot louder now
