Try bleeding the clutch. Do you see any fluid anywhere? How's the level?

I do not see any fluid, but it is dark out. I will check the fluid level.

What would cause this to happen?

Any number of reasons at this point. Possibly a bad slave cylinder, possibly a bad or blown out seal somewhere has let in air on a line or otherwise, mechanical failure in the clutch, the list goes on.

The fluid level is fine.. I dont see any fluid. Some people have told me it is a ring in the clutch that breaks sometime. I am not exactly sure what this "ring" is. ?

First things first attempt a proper bleeding procedure on the clutch. In my short time on these forums I have heard of a dead pedal fixed by a good bleed.

This is what i will do then. Unfortunately i do not have the spot or tools to do it at my place, so it will have to be towed to the shop.
