Buddy has problems wanna help him out...he downshifted to 3rd and he said about 3 secs later 3rd gear turned into neutral...basically just revving in 3rd. And now 2 people weren't able to pull shifter outta 3rd. Basically its stuck in 3rd. What's wrong? He thinks clutch splines broke or bad synchro maybe???

even if the splines is mest up he should still be able to take it out of any gear and shift into any gear(engine off)...if its stuck..then yeah synchros might be mest up or he broke something in the tranny..either way its not good...new tranny or rebuild one...gl

 

yup tough luck for people who ABUSE THEIR CARS! He will run nearly anyone he sees in his car even if the car has 1/2 the capability of his car. So ill just let him know his tranny is basically messed up cuz he said he cannot yank the car outta 3rd gear even when off. what would cause this? he said he was cruising 5th then dropped it in 3rd going 80mph.

 

he has either broke or badley bent a shift fork but that would be from trying to powershift but the synchro is fine in third gear even if you have the bad tranny that comes in some of the evos

 

yup he went to RRE, they said he broke some bearing near the shifter. And he broke/bent somehow messed up the shift fork. 1600 to fix.

 

Damn! Your buddy musta been shifting pretty damn hard!
