Question Possible SST clutch problem? (2008 MR)

My car is 2008 EVO MR, stock, has about 20,000KM.
Is it normal for the SST to slip a second on WOT? let say,i am driving around 3000 rpm at 4th gear and I floor the throttle, usually the SST drops to 2nd gear right away, the rpm jumps to about 4500 and stays there(or stucks there) for about a second then completely grabs and hard accelates. Im just curious if this is normal or there is something wrong with my clutch.
As there are so many SST issues, it kinda makes me a bit paranoid.

This sounds more like torque management than slipping....so, yeah its normal.

Great, thanks.
Would you please give me some information about torque management?

I'm not too familiar with it myself. I gather it is the ECU's way of correcting engine output so the clutches grab properly.

If u just mash on the pedal. The car has to downshift and think for a second, then engage and go. I honestly flip the switch from Normal to Sport, the car knows exactly what to do even quicker and it just goes.

buddy im experiencing the same thing , your transmission is #$##$@-ed.
I don't know what jkennedy drives, but I can tell you thats not normal in an SST equipped car.

for example, did you remember that happening in the past when you mashed the throttle?

Our cars have SSTs, not CVTs. Torque management kicks in, locks the RPMs, and shifts!if you're staying there, it means the tranny is slipping (internal clutches are getting too worn or other _fill in the blank engineers). Just like in a regular manual car, if your at WOT and the clutch can't handle the power, you'll experience something similar to this when shifting. so it means .. something is wrong. You have an MR? You live in Canada?

Just wanted to give you a heads up. PM me if you want me to send you a video to see if your problem matches my problem.
