Crower Valve Springs & Ti retainers ??'s

Hello everyone,
A while back before owning my evo i bought a set of Crower Valve Spring & Ti Retainers part #CRO-84175 for my DSM. I've since decided not to build a motor for my dsm and was debating selling the Crowers. In the back of my mind I figured the Crowers would work in the evo but never gave it much thought until today when i saw the identical part number listed for both dsm and evo's.

Knowing that the stock valve springs and retainers are an upgrade for a lot of dsm owners it makes me wonder how good the Crowers are since they are the same piece used for dsm and evo's. Are they that big of an upgrade over stock Evo springs? Are these good enough to run on my Evo with Kelford 272's? Not planning on revving super high but the added protection just in case of a mis-shift is really why i want to run valve springs and retainers in the first place.

Writeup on the Crower's:
"Crower's new Misubishi/DSM valve springs and titanium retainers are available for the 4G63 Eclipse and Talon applications. The new single valve spring delivers 15% more pressure across the board than the factory part. Also, with a coil bind of 0.910", the Crower spring allows for more cam lift than factory springs will allow. Stock O.D., so no machine work is required to the cylinder head. Crower titanium retainers weigh in at 7 grams vs. stock steel at 14.5 grams. Pickup additional rpm's by reducing valve train weight."

Thanks for your help.

I ran the crower valve springs and ti retainers with hks 272's for 20k with no complaints. My Car was run with a 8k redline.

I don't know how much mis-shift protection they'd give you, that's an extremely violent mechanical experience.

I ran them for peace of mind with larger cams that I knew I wanted a 8k redline with. I just pulled them out while doing a motor build and they look perfect after lots of abuse.

Good info zbomb. I'm really thinking about keeping them but would still like some of peoples experiences to help settle it.
Thanks for the info.

I have some good info for ya but i will get back on exact seat press specs as i just recently switched to supertech duals w/92 or 95lb seat pressure and had supertech singles in there before.

One of our dsm guys and co-worker wanted to use my supertech singles as he had crowers in his 1G (quickest/fastest 14b car) so he did some research and found that the supertech singles were just a bit more seat pressure than the crowers.....not quite enough to warrant a switch so he said......

I was running Cos M2's w/ the singles.
