walbro Fuel pump whine Help?

So lately it seems after I drive my car for a little over 20 minutes i start hearing my Fuel pump Make a RC Whine. Every time I accelerate I hear the Whine...even at idle it's Whinning.

Does that mean my Fuel pump is on it's way out or what?...it's getting annoying as hell.

its my understanding that the walbro whines like that all the time. not having one, i can't tell you from experience, but i've heard it more than a few times.

if its predominantly louder than what it was prior, then start savin your pennies for a new one.

my external walbro 255 began making that same whine. these things are cheap, but not exactly the most reliable.

it's normal all the time...it is what it is, if you don't want the whine try another fuel pump(but they will do the same too I imagine) try the bosch if it really bothers you

Walbros are known to have a common whine. Even if it did just start happening like in this situation, its very likely natural.

i've had a total of 4 internal 255's, and 1 external 255 on various setups. random LOUD high pitched whines arent exactly normal. especially if it is periodic. this is with weather up to 115* where i live, as well as the many locals i interact with on a daily basis.

to the OP...a 255 is $100, i'd say buy a new one for a solid piece of mind. Isn't worth possibly risking a motor over a probable defunct pump.

just my 2cents.

i heard the denso 290lph will not whine, but it needs some bigger modifications to fit caus it's thicker than the stock and the walbro...

i think i will try it out, cause i hate the whining walbro...
This might sound weird but I like the whine, LOL.
