Looking for a certain type of shift cable bushing

The shift cable bushings that I'm looking for are metal but they're not the solid aluminum or the brass kind. They're kind of like a TOB in that the center of the bearing can spin. I could have swore that I saw them on a site yesterday, but I checked the history on my computer and came up with nothing. I searched on here too, and still no results. Does anyone else know what I'm looking for? In the mean time, I'm going to keep looking...

Are you sure it wasnt the polyurethane style with the metal sleeve? That and the solid aluminum ones are the only ones I am aware of.

They put skate board bearings in DSM bushings.

This may be what I'm looking for. Not everyone has heard of them, and they were only brought to my attention recently

yep, machv.com sells them, just not in their Evo section. I know someone on here installed them, I just can't find the thread. They seem like a much safer bet because of their ability to rotate freely, unlike the brass, aluminum, or the polyurethane bushings, regardless of how much you lubricate them. If these bearings can handle the abuse of a rollerblade/skateboard, then they should last forever as shift bushings.

Ok. I went to a local store and bought a pack of those bearings. There is a catch to using these on Evos: one of the shift cable ends will accommodate these bearings easily (2 bearings per cable), but the lower cable end's opening is too big for them. All in all, I would say go ahead and use the other shift cable bushings that are already available. If I had the tools and scrap metal handy, I would fab something up myself and go ahead and use the bearings, but I don't.

Not sure what the feeling of the shifts will be like now with one of the bearings being solid, and the other being squishy stock.
