Well, you can't go wrong with the OEM stuff, but once you grow with the car, then start to experiment with alternatives as your experience and budget allows you to.

Since you are new to the scene (this scene, at least), just because a person here on the forums recommends you to do something as a performance upgrade may not always be the correct thing. Again, time and experience will dictate that to you, BUT definitely stay on the boards and read the threads, see what is going on, add your experiences as you grow and stay humble because we all learn something new.

The fluid for the gearbox is multi-gear oil 75w/85. Diaqueen from Mitsu, but others on here will also recommend AMSOIL. There are other brands on the market, as well. The transfer case is 75w/90. You can also get it from Mitsu, as well as AMSOIL. Myself, I use all Liqui-Moly from Germany for reasons of geographic location and operating conditions.

A filter is a filter, as long as it is made by a reputable company and is the correct thread-pitch and depth.

Good luck and welcome to EVOs.

Oil filter doesn't make a big difference. I always use either the Fram 3593A or the Mobil 1 M1-104 from Walmart.

Tranny is usually any 75w-90, redline, amsoil, bg synchroshift, OEM, etc.

Tcase is OEM Diaqueen.

I use all Amsoil lubs for the engine with a WIX oil filter, tranny, transfer case, and rear diff.
