5 speed to 6 speed mr tranny question, HELP!

5 speed to 6 speed mr tranny question, HELP!

just did a 5 speed to 6 speed tranny swap, i have 2005 and swap in a evo 9 mr tranny. switch everything, including the mr tranny harness. everything plug up fine and work great but my reverse light doesn't work. does anyone know why? do i need a MR ecu or something. anyone know thx?

did you swap the reverse switch from the 5 speed? You need the new reverse switch

nope i used the new reverse switch that was on the mr 6 speed tranny. im i suppose to use the 5 speed reverse switch?

It would take me 2 seconds to T-shoo t it. Unplug the reverse switch connector and bridge the two female terminals going to the connector with a small piece of wire and the reverse light should lit. This is a very simple test, this will tell you if the switch is bad or else.

thx man, did the bridge, short test on the harness and the light went on, so i guess it the switch that bad. going to put in my 5 speed switch and see if it work. any chance the fuse could be blown? but if the fuse is blown it will be on all the time right?

Hey guys, I have an mr, got a five speed in now. Noticed today at work that my reverse lights aren't working. I'm guessing its this reverse switch. Where is this switch located. Any pictures

Unless it has the new Shep treatment i agree.....although for anything under 350 whp the 6spd is a much much much nicer trans.
